Information About Srinagar
The summer capital of Jammu & Kashmir, Srinagar is the city of lakes. One of the loveliest areas of the country.Founded by king Pravarasena II Srinagar lies in the Valley of Kashmir. so it nestles in the heart of the beautiful Kashmir Valley.
Tourists are attracted to Srinagar because of houseboats, Kashmiri handicrafts, dry fruits etc. You can enjoy other places like Hazratbal Shrine, Khir Bhawani Temple, Chatti Padshahi, Sonmarg, Dal Lake, Mughal garden, Shalimar bagh, Nishat bagh, Sankaracharya temple etc.

The ancient history, rich culture & climate of the place contribute to the food dining and food habits of the place. Kashmir is not only famous for its Saffron, apple, apricots, walnuts, almonds, cherries etc but also for the several varieties of high quality rice, rajmah, nadru, haaq saag, trout fish and above all the historic and traditional Kashmiri Wazwan Cuisine served in our restaurant menu.

Earlier known as Gulab Bhavan, The LaLiT Grand Palace Srinagar stands a witness to the turn of 20th century and also a spectator to the events, as they unfolded during the time India was fighting for its Independence. The four generations of rulers that ruled the state with Jammu as its capital, with Maharaja Pratap Singh having built the palace in the year 1910. The crown then passed to his nephew Maharaja Hari Singh, when Maharaja Pratap Singh died issueless.

Srinagar Location
Srinagar is located in the western part of the state of Jammu and Kashmir, in the northern region of India. It is located in the Kashmir valley. River Jhelum passes through Srinagar city. Srinagar is 876 km north of Delhi. The weather in Srinagar is alpine. Summers (April-June) are mild and winters are cold (November-February). It experiences heavy snowfall in December-February.

How To Reach
By Air : Srinagar has well linked with all the main cities of India. It offer a daily flight from Delhi. You can obtain flight to smaller cities like Leh from Srinagar.

By Rail : Srinagar does not have a railway station and the nearest railhead is Jammu Tawi, which is 305 km from Srinagar.

By Road : It is well connected by road to important places like Chandigarh (630 km), Delhi (876 km), Jammu (298 km), Leh, Kargil, Gulmarg, Sonamarg, and Pahalgam. We would provide you all India tourist permit vehicles for the local transportations and also for the intercity drives too.
